During the summer holidays, we headed to the mountains with my parents in law in an attempt to beat the heat. We visited the Akasawa Natural Recreational Forest in Kiso, about 1.5hrs drive from home. Started off our little adventure with a 10 mins train ride into the woods.

We wanted to see more so decided to walk back instead of riding the train. The 1.2km walking trail was an experience with nature, its path packed with stones and wood. Shun was excited and would not hold hands with anyone. He was way to busy exploring and seeing how far his short legs would go.
Throwing stones and enjoying the cool stream water.
Shun took a break from walking. We had some rice balls while enjoying the fresh air and greenery around us.
With a toddler who just discovered his `legs`, we took more time than needed to complete the hike as he wanted to stop and look at all sorts of holes, flowers, branches, insects etc
Picturesque scenery
We all had a great day with mother nature.

Everytime looks at his photos, can't help but notice that he has grown up and face is changing gradually (the photo of him holding the cup)...:)
